Can Qmoto garments be customised?

Of course they can! Qmoto garments can be customised in terms of both design and comfort. Aesthetically speaking, you can have fun combining colours and personalised texts for your next racing suit or leather jacket. In terms of comfort, Qmoto has set up a tailor-made service that gives everyone the chance to own a garment with the perfect fit of the suits worn by MotoGP racers. This requires to 'tailor fit' the garment to your body. The principle parts of the body where interventions can be made are the neck, chest, upper arms, forearms, wrists, waist, belly, thighs, knees, calves, and ankles.

Where can I have my measurements taken for leather garments?

You can do the measurements at home, preferably with someone else's help. The guide is in Size Chart Section or in our Suit Designer. You can also arrange a meeting via contact form at our Hamilton premises.

Where can I find Qmoto Catalogue?

All the products in the current Qmoto collections can be found in PDF catalogue on our website www.qmoto.co.nz in the News section.

The garments can be viewed and easily traced by a practical search engine that divides them into categories (i.e. Motorbikes, MTB, SKI & Snowboard, Watersports), in Gear Shop section.

How do I clean and care for my leather garments?

The main thing to ensure in cleaning and caring for a leather garment is that it is essential to make sure dirt is not allowed to build up over time.

To clean your leather garment follow these steps:

1) Do not rub down the garment with a brush or abrasive materials or creams.

2) To remove both gnats and dust, simply wipe the area with a soft sponge soaked in neutral soap and water. It is best to promptly remove any organic spots left by insects (e.g. gnats, mosquitoes etc.), since the fluids they contain are quite aggressive on the leather.

3) Any oil or grease should be washed immediately with a soft damp cloth, clean with gentle circular movements, avoiding to unduly rubbing the soiled area.

4) Dry the garment away from heat sources and in a well-ventilated place, it is best to use a clothes hanger to prevent the garment from creasing or taking on shapes that are difficult to eliminate.

5) When a garment is dried after it is accidentally wet, the leather may appear dry or stiff. To restore its initial characteristics use special cream for leather garments. Remember to take great care with garments made of several different materials. In this case, always and only follow the instructions on the garment label.

How do I wash my gloves?

Leather gloves are best not washed, avoiding dirt from building up over time and using special cream for leather to keep them soft and clean.

Fabric gloves, in GORE-TEX® and in D-Dry®, however if a more in-depth cleaning is needed, we recommends to wash them delicately in luke warm water (max. 40°C) and non-abrasive, softener free neutral soap. Then dry them in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and heat, making sure you hang them by their cuffs, with the fingertips pointing downwards.

All said, only unless otherwise indicated on the garment label.

All technical fabrics, including elasticized versions, must always be given a very delicate cleaning treatment. In particular high-tech fibres with mechanical properties must be treated with softener free, neutral detergents. Softeners can significantly weaken the waterproof and oil-proof surface treatments and even damage the resin coatings and multi-purpose membranes in Polyurethane and based on Polytetrafluoroethylene (i.e. PTFE – Teflon) usually applied on the backing of the fabric.

How can I get rid of oil or gnat marks?

These marks must be removed as soon as possible: the longer they remain the harder it is to remove them. To clean insect marks just wipe them away with a soft damp cloth and neutral soap. It is best to promptly remove any organic spots left by insects (e.g. gnats, mosquitoes etc.), since the fluids they contain are quite aggressive on the leather.

Any oil or grease should be wash immediately with a soft damp cloth, clean with gentle circular movements, avoiding to unduly rubbing the soiled area. Dry the garment away from heat sources and in a well-ventilated place, it is best to use a clothes hanger to prevent the garment from creasing or taking on shapes that are difficult to eliminate.

How do I choose the right size of back armour for me?

Regulations indicate the size of back armour as the waist to shoulder height, in other words the distance between the waistline and middle of the shoulders. All the informative notes accompanying protections contain model by model references of these sizes so that anybody can choose the right size for their build.
